Apple finally unveiled the iPhone today at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco.

Read on for the juicy details… and the price tag.
So, after weeks and weeks of rumors, hoax 3d renderings, and anxious waiting, Steve Jobs has finally shown us the iPhone. The thing is jam-packed with every feature you’d ever need to do just about.. well, everything. The presentation of the product itself was also jam-packed, with a congratulatory voicemail from none other than former-vice-president-gone-global-warming-aficionado Al Gore (who also sits on Apple’s board) and a Steve Jobs prank call to Starbucks ordering 4,000 lattes to go. But enough of that, onward to the incredible specs of this phone.
Billed as a 3-in-one device, the iPhone combines a “revolutionary” mobile camera phone, a widescreen and touch-controlled iPod that runs a scaled-down version of iTunes innately, and a mobile internet communication device with full web browsing, map viewing, desktop-class email, and search capability. It comes in two different variations as well - a 4gb version for $499 and an 8gb version for $599.
Here’s a list of the specifics:
–3.5″ touch-sensitive wide screen
–mp3 playback via integrated iTunes software with scrollable album art (just like in the real iTunes software)
–video playback (just like the 5th gen video iPods)
–ability to look at voicemail just like email (pick and choose which ones to listen to rather than listening to the whole thing)
–2-megapixel integrated camera with photo management software that “goes far beyond anything on a phone today”
–integrated Safari web browser with integrated google and yahoo search capability
–web pages are full-size and not altered for the phone in any way - they can be zoomed in by tapping the screen
–richly featured email client that can connect to pop3 and imap servers, and displays text and images in the same window
–a map application that uses google maps that can give you directions to where you need to go, on the go
–widget capability (like stocks, news, weather reports, etc.) with touch screen compatibility (for more on widgets, go to http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/)
–a full touch screen QWERTY keyboard for text messaging and typing with predictive capability to minimize mistakes and maximize productivity
–a scaled down version of Max OS X
–internet connectivity over 802.11b/g WiFi and Cingular’s EDGE high speed data network
The technical specifics (taken from Apple’s website):
–Screen size: 3.5 inches
–Screen resolution: 320×480 at 160 pixels per inch
–Input method: Multi-touch
–Operating System: Mac OS X
–Storage: 4gb or 8gb
–GSM: Quad-band (MHz: 850, 900, 1800, 1900)
–Wireless data: Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + EDGE + Bluetooth 2.0
–Camera: 2.0 megapixels
–Battery: Up to 5 hours of talk/video/browsing and up to 16 hours of audio playback
–Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches // 115 x 61 x 11.6 mm
